Scholarships & Stipends

ORSA is proud to be able to provide a variety of scholarships and stipends to its members to help offset travel and/or registration costs associated with attending professional development opportunities. All applications for scholarships and stipends will be reviewed by the Professional Development Committee and evaluated on the following criteria:

  • The quality of the applicant’s submission responses
  • ORSA involvement
  • The applicant's past involvement in NIRSA national, regional, and state workshop/conferences, committees, presentations, and volunteer opportunities.
  • The applicant's career goals and commitment to NIRSA at the national, regional, and state levels.
  • The applicant's ability to clearly articulate their purpose for attending the workshop or conference.
  • The quality and professionalism of the applicant's resume/vita.

**IMPORTANT!** Each applicant to any and all scholarships and stipends must also submit their professional resume/vita via email to the Committee Co-Chairs, Michelle Rieger at m.m.rieger@csuohio.edu OR Andrew Jordan at jordan.430@osu.edu.

ORSA Travel and Development Stipend

ORSA offers travel and development stipends to active ORSA members who are in need of additional financial assistance to a development opportunity of their choosing. These stipends, while available year round, are limited, as they are offered on a first come, first serve basis. However, the Professional Development Committee would like to announce remaining opportunities for additional funding to our ORSA membership.

  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
